Shuaib's Petre Fit method
Learn to move
Shuaib's Petre Fit training system works on first learning how to use your body piece by piece, then all together and then we begin to learn movements.
The more you can do, the more your body will build itself to do it efficiently. This is why most top ranking athletes have similar body shapes, think swimmers, gymnasts, ballet dancers, crossfitters, strongmen, fighters. They aren't training to do exercises, their bodies are a consequnce of their art/skill. By trying to improve, their bodies must build itself to work better.
Now the average person doesn't have to compete, so our training doesn't have to be as intense, so we do 20% of the training, for 80% of the results (80/20 rule). Usain Bolt ran 100m in 9.58 seconds. If you run 100m in 11.58 seconds you will still beat 99% of people, you will still be extremely fit and strong.
The Petre Fit system is heavily influenced by gymnastics, yoga, martial arts and ballet but remoulded to focus on longevity. We want parents, and even grandparents, to be able to keep up with their kids. Be able to hold them and play with them to the fullest. We work on correcting postural issues inherited by computer work and driving (made worse from stress) which can cause unneccesary anxiety from a tight sternum. We also train you to use your muscles as opposed to your joints, which will remove all shoulder, lower back, knee and hip pain. Something you can do to make you concious of this is to climb the stairs. Do you lean forward and 'fall' over your knee when you go up, or do you stand on straight, knee at 90 degrees over your foot (not infront of toes), with a straight back and using your thigh and bum to push? The falling puts pressure on the joint which takes wear and tear. The upright 'step-up' will put pressure on the muscles, which will get stronger.
The 3 main movements I teach are pushups, single leg squats and pull ups. These are all you need to take you into old age gracefully but as said by Dylan Thomas: "Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light." Fight and reclaim the spark of your youth, don't be trapped in a dying body. For mind, body and soul are all connected.
